Story

I've setup this group for Cameron,

as some of you know, Cameron suffers with a very rare genetic condition called Joubert Syndrome.
this affects Cameron's speech , balance, coordination , his breathing and has developmental delay.

there are only 4 known cases of Joubert Syndrome in Wales, and only around 500 in the world, this means it affects roughly every 1 in 100,000 people..

Cameron cannot walk , or talk, and cannot stand unaided due to poor balance and coordination.

despite all of this Cameron has over come so many hurdles through the last 7 year's of his life , and reached milestones we were told her never reach , he sat up unaided at the age of 2 and a half, he's able to weight bare with assistance , and he can even feed himself which is a massive achievement as he doesn't have very good coordination with his hands , although he has improved.

he's such a superhero and a superstar and he doesn't let his condition get him down or in the way.. and has just won the child of courage award through the local HERO awards for everything he's been through .

my reasons for setting up this group is because I plan to do some fundraising events for cam in order to get him a piece of equipment that will help him gain stability , core strength and the ability to stand unaided and eventually walk.

this bespoke device is called a HKAFO (hips, knees, ankle and foot orthosis)

This is a general orthosis system for anyone who requires maintaining an upright position of the body or who is in rehabilitation and learning to walk.

HKAFO is used to as a rehabilitation device to support therapy of lack of stability and control of the pelvis, hip joints and lower extremities in such conditions as:
spina bifida
hip dysplasia
multiple sclerosis
cerebal palsy
muscle dystrophias
traumatic brain injury.

so if you would like to help it know anyone who will be willing to help us raise money to get Cameron the equipment he needs

Thank you ever so much for your support we really appreciate it

Xxxx
