In April 2016 a vibrant, funny, beloved and beautiful lady lost her battle with Cancer. She fought hard for her life, but there was no way to beat that awful disease. That lady was my Gramma. It leaves you a little numb, that kind of loss, when someone is lost over that prolonged period of suffering. I want to remember her to my boys, her great grandchildren, forever.
We all want to fight and to beat this ugly and catastrophic mutation of cells that kills and maims and robs us of those we love. The only way we can begin to annihilate this dirty underhand and sneaky little disease is with MONEY. Money is what will help us win this war. Money creates armies and armies have soldiers like you and like me. Money will fund research and help scientists make bullets to shoot it down! All important money...
So here's what it boils down to... Yes, I'm asking for your financial support. I'm asking everyone affected or unaffected by this nightmare to make a contribution to this target, no matter how small. I'm also going to need your help over the next year as I train for the race of my life. I've made a pledge to run as many miles as I can next year. I'm not a runner, at least not a marathon runner. But in 6 months or so I will be! I'm going to run every mile in HER name, Margery Taylor, and hope to raise in the region of £1500 which will be divided between the hospice where she was cared for at the end, and a cancer charity. This is for you Gramma!
