Story

Myself (Aimie) and my friend Danni are going to be completing the National Three Peaks (UK) in June. The challenge is to complete the three peaks in under 24 hours.

The charity we have chosen (The Manx Stroke Foundation) is close to my heart and we would be grateful for every donation. My mother suffered two severe strokes in 2013 which left her paralyzed on her left side, weak, constant pain due to nerve damage and unable to get out of bed.

One of the main reasons for fund raising is to bring awareness and help people understand the signs of a stroke. In 2013 I was not aware of the signs of a stroke and it was not until my mum fell ill I started to educate myself on the affects a stroke can have.

The Manx Stroke Foundation is a registered charity formed in 1997 by a small group of health professionals who recognised the need for a support group for those affected by stroke.

We are looking forward to the hike, raising awareness of stroke and its risk factors so that strokes can be prevented. :)
