Story

My 3-year old son Ethan attends Inchinnan Community Nursery and absolutely loves it there. All the staff are fantastic and really care about and nurture the children. As a community nursery, it receives very little funding, just enough to cover basic costs, so when something needs updated or replaced, they rely on the generosity of others through donations and fundraising.

The nursery SmartBoard urgently needs replaced. The nursery has managed to secure £500 funding from the Glasgow Airport Flight Path Fund, however, the nursery and parents need to raise an additional £1,000 to be able to replace it.

Running has never really been something I was good at - I remember trying to run the 1500m in primary and secondary school and really struggling! But over the past few months I started doing the couch to 5K and have continued training with the aim of fully running 10K. I have never entered a race before at any distance but I have signed myself up for the Paisley 10K on Sunday 19th August.

To give a little added boost to my first ever race, I'd like to use this opportunity to raise money for the nursery to replace the SmartBoard, so that Ethan can have the benefit of it this year, but also that all local community children can benefit in the future. I'd like to try and raise £200 to help the nursery, and if I can do that, then all the training will have been worth it! Anything you give, no matter how little, is hugely appreciated.

Inchinnan Community Nursery is a registered charity (SC016068).
