UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2018
Teddy bears used to be distributed to babies, young children and expectant mothers onboard the Scottish Air Ambulance flights but due to lack of public donations they have been unable to provide the bears over the past two years.
We unfortunately had to be transferred from Shetland to the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital with our daughter and it was during this flight we got into a conversation with the onboard paramedic Peter Craigmile who explained to us about the bears.
When our daughter was well enough to come back home we immediately started fundraising to help redesign and purchase new bears. We raised enough to get the first batch of new bears ordered and they are now back being distributed onboard the air ambulance flights but we are still fundraising to ensure there is enough funds to continue supplying them.
These bears are a great comfort to young children as it helps comfort them when they are distressed while being transferred to hospital.
Your donations will ensure that funds will be available to reorder the bears for others to receive and have as a keepsake of their stressful experience.
