I've raised £5000 to 4Kerala

By now you will all be aware of the devastating monsoon floods devouring southern parts of Kerala with fatalities well over 350 but real numbers are not yet known. As water has no boundaries this is spreading fast. The floods have wiped out vital infrastructure and services have been severely destroyed. With over 2 million lives destroyed and with 300,000 plus people in camps, the struggle to feed and cloth the sick and homeless is near impossible . The camps need food, clothes, clean drinking water, nappies, sanitary towels and most importantly medicine to combat water born diseases. Aid is vital and the people of Kerala need our help now and continued support in the coming months whilst they rebuild communities. Longer term impact of the floods will effect crops and vital services for many more months even after flood waters subside. Our support is essential if they are to overcome and restore normality for many families.
I am asking for your help in raising money to donate directly to two sources in Kerala one being an established charity which is the Open Scout group, Kollam, Kerala and the other is a group of Engineers form Technopark, Trivandrum, Kerala who will provide relief and in the long term look to rebuild homes. The Scout group are visiting camps and purchasing goods according to need. They have already distributed truck loads of various essential goods and have just secured a shipment of vital medicines from Chennai. They will also be buying the 'return box' with all cleaning essentials for those who are seeing water subside. We have already raised over £2000 in the short timescale but tis is no way near enough so if you wish to donate please do so using the just giving site. No donation is too small as every penny counts. Either myself or my husband will travel to Kerala early September to assist in the camps and deliver the goods in person. Thank you so much for your kind generosity.
