    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Dear all,

As most of you know I am in a very intense and challenging time of my life. I feel so grateful for all the kindness and support you have been offering to me. Soon, I will have to leave the place I consider home, and leave so many things behind. I feel stripped from everything I love, from all my projects, all my plans, all my dreams - everything is going, and I feel overwhelmed contemplating the blank space it is leaving in front of me. There is so much to reinvent, to recreate, to redefine. Friends - I am bruised. I feel scared to dream again. Yet I know I must, I need to take the risk to dream and fall again, to reaffirm who I am and what I deeply wish for my life; to be fully alive. I have been working hard, cumulating jobs, slowly putting myself financially back on track, yet it is not enough for me to realise the project I have in mind. I have been hesitating a long time and it feels quite a challenging thing to do, but there it is - I am asking your help to get to the next chapter of my life - or a least the first step towards it.

    So, here is the plan.

In mid-september I will be joining an inspirational and exciting two month-long walk in Curiosity in Sweden (http://landincuriosity.strikingly.com). Living in nature, in community, foraging for food, gathering wood, cooking on fire and sleeping under the stars, we will explore new ways of learning and connecting with the land and ourselves. My intention for this walk is to focus on trees, wood, and the crafts around it - basketry (with various twigs and barks), woodwork (travelling as light as possible and carving the things I need on the way) and fire-making by friction. I feel a real longing to keep deepening these skills that have been bringing a real quality and intensity to my life over the past years and it feels a beautiful opportunity to choose to travel with such a focus, to really dedicate these months to this in-depth learning. It will also be a really precious time to take some space to reflect, reset and reaffirm my intentions, to think about the big decisions and strong choices I have to make for my life.

For the first step of this journey, I estimate a budget of £1000, covering walk living costs (£400), travel costs (£200), emergency funds (£200) and buying some pieces of gear (£200). If this amount was not reached I will have to consider how realistic and safe it is for me to do this, and I will keep you updated. If by any chance this amount was outreached, it will help me to go through whatever is this new chapter of my life more freely and light-hearted.

I am hoping to document this journey via a blog where I will share my adventures and the crafts I am producing and experiencing - the intention is that everybody who helped me will receive a piece of my travel - something special to me, born from my dreams and your help. You will all be part of this journey with me. Depending on postage costs, here is an idea of what you could receive (see also picture of my crafts bellow):

For £10 - an handmade postcard of gratitude from my travels.

For £20 - as above + a little beautiful something from my travels - some nice leaves and feathers or a bit of bark or a bit of poetry, a bit of creativity.

For £50 - as above + a small piece of craft from my travels made especially for you - a little spoon or a woven mat or a leaflet about craft and nature connexion.

For £100 - as above + a bigger piece of craft from my travels made especially for you - a wooden bowl or a basket or a bark container or a fire kit.

But feel free to pledge any amount, even in between of theses. Any donation will be much appreciated and you will all receive something from me in gratitude for your help.

The long term intention is to get to a place where I can share these skills in a useful, meaningful and fulfilling way, bringing them to the world and the next generation, keeping the stories and the crafts of our ancestors alive and in connexion with our modern world. I wish this journey to be a step on the path taking me there.

Thank you for your love and support - I trust this will happen if it is the right thing for me, at this very intense time of my life.

In a few weeks I will leave my home and go on the next chapter of my life. I am dreaming of the crafts and the wilderness of the North and I am hoping to deepen my skills in basketry, woodwork and fire-making whilst walking and visiting craftsmen in Scandinavia.
