Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
In July 2016 Steve White was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumour. The condition is called Glioblastoma (GBM) and is often referred to as “The Terminator”, due to its aggressive nature and resistance to current NHS medical treatment. The median survival rate is between six to 18 months from initial diagnosis.
Steve, who is just 43 has undergone surgery to remove 95% of the tumour and is now undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy but unfortunately this type of tumour always recurs. The treatments available on the NHS are limited and are often unsuccessful but Steve is staying positive. There are alternative treatments available under private health care but are expensive.
Steve is a very good friend of mine and I have known him for over 10 years through work and I would like to raise money to help with his further treatment and beat this condition. As some of you know I am a keen runner and have entered several races in the coming months which I will run in aid of raising funds to help Steve reach his target.
In September I will be running the Great North Run and in October i will be running the first ever Birmingham Marathon and my second this year (I must be mad).
Please read Steve's full story is on the following web page
So please donate and help me smash this target

Amazing Andy that you're completing your 2nd marathon of the year. We are so grateful of the support you have and still are giving to my family. Good Luck. (Stephen's mother in law)
