Story

This is my good friend Lilian Marwa – I met Lil when I visited Mission in Action – Kenya in 2012. Lilian now runs the Akina Ties Crisis Accommodation Centre in Kissi, western Kenya. The centre is home to up to 18 abandoned and abused kids and support staff.
Lilian and her kids have been renting homes and have had to move home four times in the past year. This has meant wasting time and money on renovations on four occasions. Thankfully an Aussie couple (from Northern NSW) have come to the rescue and given Lilian enough to build their very own home.
UPDATE - OCTOBER 2018
We can't wait to show you the new Akina Ties Children's Centre house very, very soon. It looks amazing! The beautiful boys and girls of Akina Ties are so excited to be moving into their very own home - the first permanent home the centre has ever had after a long line of less than satisfactory rental situations. Keep tuned for the house opening announcement...
In the meantime, we are asking for another favour please - the kids have no beds or bedding for their new home. Pictured are the current mattresses and bed bases the kids have. As you can see they are very old and patched up.
It will cost 10,000 ksh ($140 AU or 75 UK pounds) to buy each child a new bed and bedding. There are currently 11 children at the centre. So it will cost about 110,000 ksh ($1500 or 800 UK pounds) to buy 11 beds and bedding.
If you can spare a couple of dollars/pounds/shillings please DONATE HERE!
