Story

Asalamu Alaikum,

Masjid Al-Ikhlas was established in February 2013, and has been facilitating for the Muslim population of Adamsdown since. However, the Muslim population in the area has grown rapidly in recent years, and now the masjid is in dire need of an extension.

Not only does this masjid cater for the 5 daily prayers and educational classes, it also acts as a 'go-to' place for many refugees who have sought asylum in Cardiff. The Welsh Refugee Council is on the same street as the masjid, and as majority of these refugees come to the country with minimal provisions, it is vital for us to provide a suitable place for our brothers and sisters.

Charity does not decrease your wealth, but instead purifies it. We should consider charity as a perpetual investment for us, donations that will continue to accumulate reward for us til the day we meet Allah. Our Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Whoever builds a Masjid seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." [Bukhari]

Allah (swt) says in the Quran, that the servants of the Most Merciful are "those who, when they spend, do not do so excessively or stingily, but take the middle path" [25:67].

We ask Allah to protect us from stinginess and greed, that he allows us to take the middle path, and that he accepts from us and gives us a lofty mansion in Jannah.

Jazakumallahu khayran, Asalamu Alaikum
