Story
Al-Noor Medical Complex was setup by Dr Fauzia Shahid and Dr Shahid Hameed in honour of Dr Fauzia's late mother Noor Safia. Mrs Safia suffered with diabetes and required Kidney Dialysis 3 times a week. The closest Dialysis Centre to Mianchunnu was 1 hour away by personal transport. The stress of travelling added to her suffering. In response to this the Dr Fauzia decided to setup a Dialysis centre in Mian Channu offering a Free Dialysis Service for the poor and needy. Kidney disease is rampant in Pakistan. According to the World Health Organisation, Pakistan ranks 8th amongst countries with high rate of Kidney disease with an estimated 17 million people in Pakistan suffering from Kidney problems.
