Story

My grandson Oli has Spinal Muscular Atrophy which is a neurological condition which leads to muscle wastage. This is a degenerative condition.

Oli has been playing power chair football for about 1 year only and has already been tipped as having a promising future in the sport. He is only 9 years old but at the end of the 2017/2018 season he was officially signed up to Percy Hedley adults team to play in the North Of England League.

Oli was given the number 9 shirt and in the last game of the season he scored his first and the teams winning goal!!

Currently Oli uses a power chair from Percy Hedley School for which he is grateful but in order to progress next season Oli needs a better chair. The better chairs unfortunately cost between £5000 to £8000!!!

Myself and my wife Sue (Oli's granny) are taking part in the Kielder Challenge on the 1st September 2018 in order to raise money towards Oli's own power chair. This is a 25.3 mile walk around Kielder Water with over 1500 ft of uphill walking. It will be challenging but worth it to help our grandson. Please help us by donating to our challenge.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.
