Woody and Nibbo's Dream
** UPDATE - Many of you clicking on this page will know that the club was recently broken into and valuable items required for us to deliver football stolen, meaning our terrible year continues. However, we refuse to let criminals impact us from delivering football happiness to all players, families, friends, supporters and volunteers of RIsborough Rangers FC. Thank you for your support**
It’s been a devastating time for our community football club, Risborough Rangers FC. We provide football joy for over 500 players and we are proud to say this includes girls teams and a pan disability team. Over the past 12 months, following the tragic deaths of a number of our beloved committee members and others, who have built this community club since 1971, we lost our Chairman, Richard “Woody” Woodward in shocking and unexpected circumstances and our former vice chair, Colyn "Nibbo" Makepeace to illness.
Over the next few months Risborough veterans (and some old adversaries!) will come together at The Kamtech Stadium in Risborough to play Memorial matches for Woody, Pete, Nibbo, Ken, Derek and others we have lost in sad circumstances and too soon, in recent years. It was these guys, along with many others, who gave us the joy of football at Risborough and built the community club that provides such great opportunities for so many people, young and old, today.
Our aim is to raise some money as a start to being able to refurbish the clubhouse and changing facilities so they can be used by all, a dream of Woody and Nibbo and something they was so passionate about, whilst at the same time, continuing to run the club and build for the future.
Thank you for your support. And, if you can find the time, come and watch us play in memory of Woody, Nibbo et al anytime we're at the Kamtech!
