I've never run a half-marathon race before.

Before last year, I'd never even run any proper distance at all.

In March 2015 I took up running in earnest.

Just before Christmas I ran my first 10k race (the very hilly Denby Dale Six, in the northern foothills of the Peak District) and completed the distance in my best ever time - just over 54mins.

This Sunday, in Carlisle, I'll be racing over twice that distance in my very first half-marathon race - The Great Cumbrian Run.

If I can find 200 people to sponsor me £5 each, this will raise £1000 for the #HandsOffHRI Campaign.
