Story

Since the bookshop closed in late 2016 we have had no low-cost place in Great Linford to meet and have a coffee, cake, a chat and for toddlers, kids' books, carers, book clubs, music groups, sewing classes, other craft groups, card games etc.
Peartree Pond Association (PPA) who look after the Pond, Ping Square, litter picking, benches, shrub borders, bike rack planters and the two pear trees, now have a 3-year lease on the shop and have raised some funds for refurbishing and fitting out. We plan to do the floors, walls, ceiling, plumbing and lighting and to remove some walls and construct a meeting room.
We already have the makings of a Little Free Library which will be "open all hours" and plans are afoot for a Community Fridge like the one in Wolverton to supplement peoples shopping, save wastage and offer fresh local produce in season.
All this will be run by PPA and by a working group with volunteer support. It will be open to everybody and open as often as possible.
We think it's an important local cause; we really could us the extra £2,500 for vital work and material and ask you all for your support.
Thanks in advance
