Story
On Friday 22nd November 2019, Alan Webb suffered a stroke caused by a large bloodclot in his brain, he was admitted to the Royal Derby Hospital Intensive Care Unit the same night, over the next two days the Doctors & Nurses in the ICU looked after Alan.
Unfortunately after an MRI scan it was found that the bloodclot that caused his stroke had already killed half of his brain and there was nothing that could be done to save him.
The Doctors & Nurses went above and beyond to support Alans wife Di, his four daughters Sophie, Chloe, Amy & Natasha and all visiting family who made the 2.5 hour trips from Bolton & Surry to come and say their goodbyes.
Myself, Oli & Connor are running multiple 10k’s & Half Marathons throughout 2023 including the Derby 10k & Great Manchester Run 10k and then I will be finishing off the year with the RunThrough Alton Towers Half Marathon in Alan’s name and are raising money for the ICU.
The money raised will help the doctors & nurses continue thier hard work in not only looking after ICU patients but supporting the family members as well.
