Story

Friday 8th May!!

We have been inspired by the likes of 94-year-old Bob Corkish and others who are helping to raise funds for the people of the Isle of Man. We have decided this coming Bank holiday we would challenge ourselves.

We are all aware of the incredible work being done by everyone involved in the NHS and others involved in Manx charities. Whether it is helping those who have Corvid-19 or supporting others who have suffered due to the lockdown.

Like every family out there we also have been affected by the current situation. We have one member who has lost his job in the UK, Sarah is on reduced hours and Debbie is working her socks off, putting in many hours outside normal surgery helping the Island's NHS to meet the Coronavirus challenge.

The Island has been meeting these challenges with a spirit of togetherness and we want to reflect this by challenging ourselves as a Father-Daughter team. Alan has been a keen cyclist who has entered some of the Islands’ cycling events. Sarah has always enjoyed her cycling and has jumped on the bike more as a training alternative to football.

This Bank Holiday, starting Friday 8th April at 10am we will be continuously cycling in our garage for 24 hours using our Wahoo Indoor Cycling Trainer. We plan to take turns in 1 to 2 hour stints. We will be using Zwift to log the mileage and if you want to join us and help us along look for us under “Alan Wignall” in Zwift. We will also be putting out regular updates on Sarah and Debbie’s Facebook and Instagram page.

It would be amazing if you could donate and help us raise money for these wonderful charities. Please like and share this post.
