Story

Volunteering is something that has been a dream of mine for such a long time. I have always wanted to travel specifically to an African country with the ambition of helping to improve the lives of those who are less fortunate. I am particularly keen to travel to Uganda this year as my first ever volunteering trip! Raising money for this trip and enabling me to travel would mean the absolute world and Im sure is the beginning of a series of volunteering trips in years to come. The charity that I have picked to travel with is soft power education, they are a charity based in Uganda and aim to provide clean and safe working and learning environments for children. They do this by building additional classrooms, installing water catchment tanks and building pit latrines all alongside the Amagezi Education Centre. Providing interactive learning experiences for children as young as 3, and enabling awareness by teaching key life skills such as the dangers of malaria, family planning, nutrition, health and sanitation. Me and a group of other students will be travelling in July 2018 and my aim is to be able to fundraise money for my personal expenses for this trip such as flights. Any giving counts as little or as big as you are able to donate, it will all help enable me to provide services which are so basic and yet fundamental human needs! I hope this not only enables a donation to help me volunteer, but also spread the word of soft power education as a charity and inspires others to do the same. X
