Back in February 2016, my dad suffered a major stroke leaving him unable to use the right side of his body. Unfortunately where the blood clot hit his brain, it's also left my dad unable to speak and he's been diagnosed with severe 'dyspraxia' and 'aphasia'. This means my dad struggles to comprehend, understand and express his thoughts which is something we all take for granted every day.

Due to the brain being such a complex and complicated muscle, we have been told my dad will never be able to express his thoughts and feelings normally again. The thought of never hearing my dad speaking again broke my heart. However, luckily my dad isn't someone who gives up and he will try everything he can to get the pathway from his brain to his mouth working again.

When dad came home on the 1st of July, the only words dad could say where 'comfort words' which are random words that he says out of frustration (mostly swear words!) Eventually in September 2016, dad was referred to an amazing charity called Headways. Headways is a charity that helps anyone who suffers any kind of brain injury.

After such a short time of being at Headways, dad has come home saying more and more words each week. I have every faith that Headways will try their hardest to get my dad back to his old self. I am eternally grateful for Headways and to help them keep doing what they do best, I've decided to do a skydive to raise them some money.

My target is £450 so if anyone who can afford to donate as much or as little as possible I will be so thankful. Please help Headways so they can keep on helping more people like my dad!
