I've raised £25000 to to fund the vital work of Connex Community Support and Buxton Street By Street to ensure they can continue to help people in need

We have now raised more than £7,500 including off line donations .... thank you all so very much for your support.
As the impact of the Corona Virus on our community begins to be understood it is clear the support needed for the health, well being and welfare of the people of Buxton and the surrounding villages is enormous. Organisations delivering voluntary and paid for services will be overwhelmed if we do not help them and to do that we need to raise funds.
The Peak District National Park presents some of the most challenging terrain for mountain bikers in England. As a focus of the fund raising, Alan Thompson aged 75, inspired by Captain Tom, will attempt to ride all 19 Enduros, described in Peak Trails as big, tough rides ... challenging routes that you might describe as a bit of a beast. Alan's plan is to literally GET ON HIS BIKE to try and get us all motivated to raise money to help our community whilst bringing attention, publicity and hopefully much needed visitor numbers to the stunning area in which we live.
The intention is to raise the funding to help our community organisations continue with their great work. You can help by sponsoring a ride, spreading the word, offering support to help in our fundraising efforts or simply making a donation.
