For a while now I have wanted to start this, but my trip to Rio finally gave me that extra push. For the longest time that I can remember, since I was a child my two dreams have been to open a Dog Shelter back home in Istanbul, along with helping existing Childrens Homes and Nurserys, so that they can expand and provide more for these Children living in poverty. I was so touched by the Favela that I visited in Brazil aswell, so I wanted to combine these two areas and help as much as I can in both countries, and both fields. I think that animals and children are the most innocent, and vulnerable beings in this world, and I feel that they are never really heard, which is why I intend on being their voice as much as I can be.
They deserve so much more than what they have, and what they go through. Every child deserves a healthy start in life, a chance for a bright future and a warm, nurturing environment. Just like every Dog deserves a warm and friendly home were they are loved and cared for. My project is based around making a difference in the lives of children coming from poor backgrounds, and stray Dogs. I have seen for myself the way these poor Dogs get tortured on the streets everyday, have no food, no water and are struggling to live, and I do not think it is fair for a mans best friend to suffer the way they do. "A Dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself." The least they deserve is some form of safe shelter and food.

5.9 million children die each year, most in the world’s poorest communities. Lets try to change the way the world treats children, and create lasting change in their lives.
