The Goal
I'll be running the Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon this year (Oct 15th). I've decided to use this as an opportunity to raise some money for a project I think has an immediate and positive impact on our community in Birmingham. The volunteers involved provide essential support to the rising numbers of rough sleepers in our city. They not only provide them with essentials to survive, but they also give them a form of stability, care and assurance that they aren't forgotten. Frankly, this project deserves our support.

The Project
The Albert Street Project is a social action project to help ease the suffering of the homeless in Birmingham. We socialise, provide food, clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags from items we have purchased ourselves or that have been generously donated by friends, family & local sandwich shops. We meet every Wednesday whatever the weather at Albert St. We are a group of friends from different faiths & backgrounds who have come together to help those less fortunate. https://www.facebook.com/albertstreetpro/
