LETS KEEP FIGHTING! Help us stop the speculative development that will do demonstrable harm to Albrighton! We need more money in the war chest to fight the planned appeal from the developer for their 'Albrighton South' (800 houses) planning application.
Albrighton Village Action Group (AVAG) was formed at the beginning of March 2024 to defend Albrighton and neighbouring areas against overdevelopment, especially on Green Belt designated land. In this short time we have achieved alot! We had a petition signed by over 3400 supporters, constructed a website www.albrightongreenbelt.co.uk & have raised awareness of the planning application that was looming for Cross Road, Patshull Road & Newhouse Lane.
Due to the Labour Government changing the rules on what can be built and where (changes to the NPPF) we have joined forces with the well established 'Albrighton Development Action Group' (ADAG), and now adopted the name, as the threat is not just from one developer on this one site, but could be many!
We aim to work together, on behalf of all local residents and traders, to react to and co-ordinate responses to inappropriate plans from developers, landowners and builders and any other threat to our Green Belt. We, as always, will continue to fight for what is right for our community, ensuring that any development proposal is sustainable.
