Story

The Glasgow Welcomes Refugees Screening and Fundraiser aims to raise awareness about barriers faced by refugees in Glasgow, and to share some of Glasgow's recent history in which activist work overcame these barriers.

We are raising funds for two charities: Glasgow Campaign to Welcome Refugees, and Stand Up To Racism.

The main event will take place Thursday 18th August 7-9pm at The Alchemy Experiment, Glasgow. The evening will start with the screening of a work-in-progress film by José Maria Martinelli interviewing Scottish activists Margaret Woods and Jock Morris, and will follow with live testimony by Pinar Aksu, Jock Morris as representative of Glasgow Campaign To Welcome Refugees and Charlotte Ahmed as representative of Stand Up To Racism.
