I'm raising money to help people impacted by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica in October 2025. Following a fantastic amount raised last December, there are still many people in need in communities in the Western parishes of Jamaica.

Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic Category 5 storm, caused unprecedented devastation in Jamaica, resulting in widespread destruction, fatalities, and significant infrastructure damage.

Hurricane Melissa made landfall on Jamaica on October 28, 2025, with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph, marking it as the strongest storm in the island's history. The impact has been devastating as people have lost everything and been made homeless. Six months on and there is still much work to be done.

The banner picture is of an elderly lady whose house desperately needs to be repaired. Her roof is a temporary tarpaulin and volunteers from Northgate Youth and Family Development Foundation have helped her to get a bed as she previously had to sleep sitting upright in the chair as pictured.

Three grassroots charity organisations received donations from my first fundraiser:

Crisis Charity working in the Bastard Cedar community in Westmoreland received £2400 towards the building of a hurricane proof 10 x 14 metre house which will rehouse a single Mum and her 4 children.

Northgate Youth and Family Foundation were gifted a Starlink Satellite Internet system with one year's subscription; a solar powered mobile generator and £1000 cash to help in the delivery of Operation Grace providing free Internet, counselling and practical support of people in Cambridge, St. James.

BREDS Foundation in Treasure Beach received £2000 which is helping the community of Treasure Beach rebuild the livelihoods of the fishermen who lost nets and boats in the hurricane amongst other great work they are doing. Visit https://bredsfoundation.org/
