Story

A small group of readers will attempt to read the whole of the New Testament out loud in 18 hours on 9th November 2018 to help raise funds for the Phase 2 makeover of Alderney Methodist Church. If you're in Alderney, come and witness the attempt. We start at 8am and we will keep going until 2am, or until we finish the New Testament - whichever comes sooner!

Alderney Methodist Church began its Phase 1 makeover recently in order to make the church building more accessible for all by installing a lift to enable people to access the church hall below the church. Phase 2 is even more ambitious, with its plans to install a further lift to allow access up into the church, to open up the space within the church so that it becomes a fully flexible venue for gigs, concerts, lectures, plays and events as well as a worship space for the regular Sunday services. This should enable the church building to welcome the community as a whole through its doors. Alderney is a tiny island just 3 miles long by 1 mile wide, and while its small community is a very generous and giving community, we are going to need a lot more help to raise the funds needed to achieve this vision.

Even if you can only spare a pound or a dollar or a euro, everything given will go towards helping the church widen its metaphorical doors and its appeal within the community! Your donation will be received with thanks, and grateful prayers.
