I've raised £40000 to Help save Aldersbrook Riding School in East London from closing down. In need of severe refurbishment and rebuild.

What makes Aldersbrook Riding School an asset to the community?
Aldersbrook Riding School was established 43 years ago, serving the local community in the London Boroughs of Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Newham. We work with schools and youth groups by providing a friendly, welcoming and accommodating environment. We have worked with people from all age groups and backgrounds and understand the importance of the community spirit. We also offer an amazing opportunity to the disabled special needs and excluded in the local community.
Restoring, Rebuilding and Preserving our Riding School at the Heart of our Community
I took over the School 2 years ago from the elderly previous owners. The barn & stables need a complete rebuild. The plan is to repair, re-store and re-build to make it an accessible and safe environment for our local community and for our horses.
This essential building work will create an amazing focal point for the community and allow use for a range of age groups. It will be for the whole community. The need for people to get together, learn, work and have fun is a very basic idea, but sometimes so hard to achieve, this is why this project is so important to keep Aldersbrook Brook Riding School open.
With an increasing amount of properties being taken or lost from our communities due to development or costs, I believe we must all pull together so that we are in a position to create an adaptive, safe space in a beautiful location in the heart of three London Boroughs.
• Replace the roof of the barn
• Restore and rebuild the outer building of the barn
• Create a flexible, useable space for all to use by levelling off the ground in the yard
• Resurface the outdoor arena
• Put new fence around the paddock
• Put new fence around the outdoor arena
• Put a new front gate
• Refurbish existing toilet facility and build a disabled toilet facility
Anyone who lives in East London area will know how precious the wonderful Aldersbrook Riding School is to our community. It is incredibly upsetting to see the deterioration of the stables.
Local residents have a chance to assist Aldersbrook Riding school Stables by donating any amount no donation is too small.
As I say, “horses are not judgemental” and that is why our stables residents are so healing to individuals with low self esteem, confidence and mental health Issues.
Aldersbrook Riding School plays an integral part of our community the value of which cannot be fully measured. It’s closure will be a great loss to everyone.
Help protect this riding school, (the only one in Redbridge) our lovely horses and this vital asset and local accessible facility. The Riding School is in dire need of refurbishment..
Barn- 6 months ago the barn collapsed which has meant we no longer have anywhere to store the bedding for the horses. It is structurally unsafe to use in its current state.
The Stables- We have 30 stables which are falling apart due to the rotting wood which is beyond restoration. Our horses need safe and comfortable dwellings where they feel protected and sheltered from the weather.
The Paddock - a large area where our horses are able to roam freely, needs new fencing all the way around as the current one is collapsing. We cannot let the horses use the paddock until safe and secure fencing is in place.
The outdoor arena- Last year this large arena got flooded which has destroyed the grounds making it not useable for any lessons or for the horses to do their daily exercise in. It needs a complete resurfacing and new fencing is needed around it to keep the horses and public alike safe and secure.
The Toilet- There is only one toilet facility which is in dire need of refurbishment having been neglected for years. We also desperately want to be able to provide toilet facilities for disabled and special needs children and adults. Currently we have to turn many of these bookings down due to lack of vital facilities.
The Yard- The ground surface in the yard is uneven making it unsafe for our horses and for the public. We cannot let any mounting and dismounting in this area due to the unevenness of the ground.
The front gate- The current, barely standing gate is too small and not high enough to keep our horses safe in the Riding School. Also for the public safety we want to install new gates that will ensure everyone’s safety.
Help Save Our Stables - Donate any amount to this worthy project and please share our story.
