I've raised £5000 to Please help us create the world's most irresistible double decker library! We want to encourage and instil a love of reading i

Aldersbrook Primary School is a three-form entry primary school (and nursery) which seeks to provide an engaging environment for its pupils.
As well as raising academic standards, over recent years, the school has sought to improve its physical environment with the aim of motivating and inspiring its students, fostering a positive learning experience whilst respecting the school’s Victorian heritage and its setting in the Aldersbrook Conservation Area.
The school’s current library is no longer fit for purpose. It cannot accommodate whole classes at any one time and is not conducive to supporting one of the school’s primary aims – to raise standards in reading.
As the school has grown from two to three-form entry, it does not have space within the existing buildings to accommodate a new facility suitable for 21st century teaching methods. It has therefore been forced explore alternatives to solve this problem.
In keeping with the school’s ethos of inspiring learning, it is seeking to provide a library facility which not only provides the requisite floor space but also ignites and sustains a love of reading in all its students. Therefore, the school is proposing to refurbish and convert a double decker bus into a new school library and this design and access statement is provided in support of a planning application for the proposal. This proposal would effectively double the amount of library space the school currently has (from approximately 48 square meters to 100 square meters).
