Hi there,
Firstly thank you for visiting my crowdfunder.
I am a 38 year old trans man from Derbyshire, England. I am a trans activist, Druid, Artist and Mad Uncle.
I have been pursuing top surgery through the NHS for several years now, but I do not meet the criteria for the UK surgeons.
I have been on testosterone for 6 years now and have a pretty epic beard as you can see (can you guess which is me?)
What you cannot tell from that photo is that I have a sizeable chest. (I cannot post a photo showing this due to social media rules and dysphoria)
This means i am subjected to a lot of staring, snarky comments, transphobia and general nastiness. This is having a serious affect on my mental health. On top of gender dysphoria i have physical disabilities, (Psoriatic arthritis, palindromic arthralgia, hypermobility, depression and anxiety) which mean it is almost impossible for me to lose the amount of weight required to comply with their very strict BMI limits (37! my current BMI is 50)
So here is where this fundraiser comes in. I had previously been looking at a surgeon in Michigan USA who offers top surgery to bigger guys, but his practice have changed their requirements…I have found a surgeon in San Francisco who has NO UPPER BMI LIMIT. His name is Dr Scott Mosser. He is an excellent surgeon who i feel would be a great fit for me.
( In the interests of transparency; My previous fundraising activities have raised roughly £2400 after fees.)
