Thank you for visiting our ‘team’ page in memory of our dear friend, Alex Beck. Every year we hold a fundraising event, the Alex Beck Memorial T20, where we raise money for two charities, the RAF Benevolent Fund & StrongMen. This will be our fifth year of hosting the event.

We decided this year to bring our donations online so people who cannot attend the event can also donate to both amazing charities who have supported our friends and families through bereavement. Read on for a little bit of our story and why we have chosen these two charities.

Alex Beck was 27 when he sadly lost his life in 2017. Beck, as he was known to many of us, was a fun, loving and adventurous guy with a big heart and personality to match; we all shared special moments with him that will never be forgotten. Beck was part of the RAF when he passed away and the RAF Benevolent Fund supported his family in their time of grief.

As Beck was part of Todwick CC when he passed away, the team decided that it would be nice to honour his memory and organised a T20 cricket match between them and another local team, Waleswood CC, whilst raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund and StrongMen.

The StrongMen charity was chosen by one of Todwick’s cricket players, Scott. Scott chose this charity as he tragically lost both his partner & child during childbirth leaving him alone to raise two daughters. StrongMen support men following bereavement and have helped Scott during his unimaginable loss.

This year we are also honouring another member of Todwick CC who sadly lost his battle to cancer in March. Chris Booth absolutely adored cricket and was such immense part of Todwick CC. He will be deeply missed by all his family & friends.
