I've raised £2000 to to fund a trip to South Africa to work with Project Gateway.

In July 2018, I am one of 14 people who have been selected to go on a school trip to South Africa to work with Project Gateway. To enable myself to be able to go on this trip, I need to fundraise all of the money myself- there is no to use The Bank of Mum and Dad! £2000 may seem like a lot but with an awful lot of charity fundraisers planned, I am hoping to make the £2000 and more if possible.
Project Gateway is an organisation that was set up to support a range of community development projects. Through these projects, the organisation is able to help people in crisis, providing care, education and empowerment to those in need.
Whilst there, we will visit the homeless overnight shelter and a number of community creches in the large townships that Project Gateway supports. Community work is one of the key activities we are going to be carrying out. Some of the activities the school have assisted Project Gateway with in previous years have been to build netball posts and teach the children how to play, rebuild a playground to make it safe for the children to play and to repaint the whole school to make school a more enjoyable place. We will also have a chance to visit the children who live in the boarding house attached to Project Gateway while learning traditional songs and playing some of their (and our!) favourite games.
