I've raised £10000 to help fund new mobility equipment for me - Alex Joyce, to do more off-road type activities with my wife, kids and friends.

After recent health advice, my mate Simon Dolling decided to get himself fit and healthy and for the last few months he's been like a man possessed, often walking tens upon tens of miles every week, getting up at the crack of dawn. He has lost loads of weight, toned-up and looks younger and happier for it. He really is inspirational and long may it continue. Any money left over will be donated to The Motor Neurones Disease Association charity.
I am without everyday freedom to join in activities with family and friends because my manual wheelchair cannot go where the fun times are being had. Buying a suitable electric wheelchair and either modifying our car to transport the wheelchair or putting a deposit down on a suitable WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) is an expensive endeavour but would mean the world to me. Having this equipment would give our family, especially our kids, so much joy, which at the moment is very hard work to come by for activity days out. My disability, which is Motor Neurones Disease (MND) causes my life and my families and my friends, when they are with me to be limited. Having this equipment will free me and everyone around me 'right up'.
I am truly grateful for any donations big or small and would like to say a massive thank you to my wife (who is my guardian real-life angel) and all my family and friends for all their love and support over these last difficult eight years. Big thanks to Simon, Paul, Gareth and Shaun for doing the challenge with me. I will be putting up photos under this blurb as the challenge unfolds so we can all see the progress together......
