We are trying to raising £500 over the remembrance weekend for the missing men of Stalybridge.

Friends Of Stalybridge War memorial.

Every Remembrance Day, we commit that "We will remember them". No-one should lose their life in service to their country and not be given that honour. Yet in Stalybridge, more than 300 late local service personnel are missing from our beautiful war memorial on Trinity Street.

Our plan is to extend the memorial in a sympathetic style to the existing memorial with new plaques. The new memorial will hopefully also have provision for the names of victims of more recent conflicts.

We need to raise a further £150,000 to make this happen, and ensure future generations are able to commemorate Stalybridge's fallen friends forever. A gift of any size from individuals, businesses or community groups would be greatly appreciated.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
