I've raised £400 to help us to keep our new kids deaf club open for the first year 🤞🤞🤞

Hi my name is Alexa, i'm 34 and i'm proud and blessed to say that growing up in my family was extra special. I have the most amazing and loving profoundly deaf grandparents. This means throughout my childhood I used British Sign Language on a daily basis to communicate with my Nanna and Grandad. Because of this I understand the importance of having access to clubs, social events and friendships which cater for the needs of deaf/hearing impaired people.
I'v recently come together with a small group of like minded people. We have the passion and drive to give the young deaf community of Rotherham a club they can attend, without feeling excluded or isolated. We will ensure our local deaf children know they can do anything they want, dream big and achieve big. Daily struggles with isolation, loneliness, low self esteam and lack of deaf awarness often make it difficult for deaf children to socilise, attend clubs and make new friends.
We will be a happy, fun, fully inclusive club for these children to attend. We know that there is a gap in our area of this kind of provision.
Our club will build confidence, friendships, and opportunities for the children, and in time create a network of connections for the parents, careres, siblings and extended family members. They will be able to share their stories, feelings, achievements and milestones.
We just need a little helping hand to get this club going. We are aiming for £324 this will secure us the venue to keep our club open for at least the first year, any funds over target will enable us to buy any resources needed. Giving us the start we need to raise awareness, fundraise and make Rotherham a brighter place for our young deaf comminity.
Any donations big or small are gratefully recieved.
Thank you all so much for all of your support.
