Story

To help fund my journey to the 2019 World Scout Jamboree I will be spending a sponsored night in Shepton Mallet Prison located in Somerset. The Prison first opened its doors to prisoners in 1625 and closed in 2013 and is said to be one of the most haunted prisons in the UK. Along with other members of the International Service Team from South West England, on the 7th September 2018 I will be spending a night sleeping in one of Shepton Mallet's haunted cells.

Why am I doing this?

I am fortunate to have been selected as one of the 750 members of the UK International Service Team heading to the World Scout Jamboree in the summer of 2019. This Jamboree is being jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the USA and will be located at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virginia. As part of the International Service Team I will be helping with the day to day running of the Jamboree, from events and activities to security and food distribution. Everybody on the International Service Team has to fundraise the cost of their participation, and this event will go towards the overall cost.

Why should you help?

A. You get to ensure I spend a night in a prison

B. This will a once-in-a-lifetime experience, allowing me to meet Scouts from all-round the world, get engrossed in different cultures, make new friends but most importantly gain skills for life.

Thank you for all your support towards this opportunity.
