One of my close family members has recently become seriously ill. My Sister in-law's Fiancé, Shaun Tayler is only 36 years of age and will be 37 this year on December 14th.
Chere and Shaun have been together for nine years now and they also have an adorable son named Dylan. They are a great couple and for a long time they have wished to get married, however due to the recent setbacks, it has been financially impossible for them.
This page has been setup to raise funds towards their wedding, alternative medical treatments, and to allow the three of them to enjoy some memorable experiences in this difficult time of uncertainty.
This time is so important to all three of them, and especially Dylan. They have been through a horrendous ordeal and I can honestly say they are truly deserving of this cause.
On Tuesday 19th October Shaun was told he had a type of cancer known as Mucinous Adenocarcinoma. Resulting in a tumour at the point where his large intestine joins his small intestine, and the cancer has also spread across his abdominal lining to his lymph nodes in his chest.
He was informed the cancer was incurable and because of the spread to his chest, he could not have surgery or radiotherapy. The only option was chemotherapy over a period of twelve weeks with the hope of reducing the tumour and slowing the growth rate.
Shaun was informed that he could be looking at only months to a year left to live. This was dependant on the outcome of the chemo.
Shaun is now a few days into his 2nd dose of six over twelve weeks and will receive a scan in early January to reveal how effective the treatment has been. Shaun is not looking to rely on the chemo alone and is already researching alternative treatments.
