Hi, thanks for clicking on this justgiving page to raise money for New Cross Neonatal Unit on behalf our little prince Alex.

My pregnancy was beyond perfect. Every Midwife appointment and scan everything was fine and perfect. Until exactly 30 weeks when I was lay in bed and all of a sudden my waters broke - completely unexpected. Then came a 5 day stay in hospital when on the 5th day Alex decided he wanted to come into the world at 30+5 - very early. He was whisked straight off to the neonatal intensive care unit. Any parents worst nightmare.

But, not for Alex. Thanks to him being a little fighter and completely incredible and the absolutely amazing staff on the ward, he's thriving. We are on day 16, and he's getting stronger daily. We are unsure how long he has left here, he's on the lowest dependency care room now. But without the incredible staff and care they have at New Cross that may not have been possible quite so quickly.

It's not just Alex, the team here have helped some incredibly poorly babies have a complete turn around and save countless babies lives. The special care they have is out of this world and they go above and beyond to ensure every baby under their care receives the best possible.

It's an emotional journey on the neonatal Ward and hearing stories that make your heart hurt but also swell with happiness when a baby is doing well - and it's all thanks to the staff here.
