    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

To help raise this Money I am going on a 13 mile walk with my toddler, around Uxbridge and Harefield. It will be a real challenge as he is an active 20 month old so will take a long long time!

I was diagnosed with postnatal depression/psychosis and post traumatic stress disorder. It took me a long time to realise how much intense support I needed.
Coombe Wood gave myself and other mothers the confidence to know that despite our mental illness we were doing great. Helped realise our own strength and helped us manager our condition.
We did various therapies such as art therapy, psychology and psychotherapy. There is no doubt in my mind that Coombe Wood saved my life and many others too. Without this safe place for Mums to go to we would be struggling in the community feeling isolated and a lone.Struggling with awful thoughts and feelings.
Their specialist care is amazing, it is so sad that there are so few mother and baby units in the UK, maybe one day that will change because if 1/10 Mothers suffer with postnatal mental illness, that is a lot of mummies and babies that need support, sadly a lot of them won't get it.
I want to make Coombe Wood a nicer place to be, update the toys for the children, buy some stair gates and some note books for the Mums so that they can journal which is a very therapeutic tool in recovery.

Omg with everything going on in my life this took a back seat which is really really bad! This is really important to me as Mother and Baby Units are so few and far between that so many mothers don't have accceas to the specialist care they need. Coombe Wood got me stable. I will forever be on their debt so I wanted to give something back. Doing a 13 mile walk with my nearly 2 year old son! -ahhh! I know it's Christmas so money is tight but I just wanted to update you all that it's still happening!!! Merry Christmas and lots of of love Lex

Hey I am Lex, I had a stint in Coome Wood Mother and Baby Unit to help treat my postnatal psychosis and post traumatic stress disorder. I could stay with my son and recover. They saved my life.
