This page and all of it's activity is dedicated to Alex's Battle Against Bowel Cancer - a campaign created to raise funds to support Alex Quatrine in his fight against this awful disease, and an opportunity to raise money for the UK's leading bowel cancer charity, Bowel Cancer UK.

Alex's Story

Following a 20+ year history with Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic disease that heavily affects the large intestine, in November 2021, my brother Alex was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer.

In true Alex fashion, he has taken both his diagnosis and his treatment in his stride, remaining positive whilst continuing to work full time, spend time with friends and even play football and cricket.

Whilst Alex is currently receiving critical NHS care, we as a family have also been funding an additional, private drug that is currently unavailable on the NHS, but could make a huge difference to his fight. Unfortunately, the cost of this drug is significant, making it unsustainable for us to continue funding it for the long term without a little help.

Alex’s Battle Against Bowel Cancer is a campaign dedicated to raising funds for both Alex’s treatment and for Bowel Cancer UK (at Alex’s request), with all money raised split between the two causes. The campaign has already seen a number of Alex’s friends and family members pull together to partake in sponsored activities, with details of all to be added to this page in due course. From bungee jumps to sponsored swims, indoor skydives, weight losses, walks, runs and everything in between, we are all willing to do whatever we can to not only support Alex, but to help fund research for the future and we’d really love for you to support us on this journey and in our fight.

How will your donations help?

75% of all funds raised via this JustGiving page will be used to fund Alex's additional, private cancer treatment that could really aid his battle.

25% of all funds raised via this JustGiving page will be donated to Bowel Cancer UK to help towards research and to support others suffering from this awful disease.
