I've raised £3600 to travel to Nepal with Cheshire Fire & Rescue Cadets and to make a practical contribution to a school in an impoverished community.

My name is Alfie Walsh, I am 15 years old and have been a member the Cheshire Fire Service Cadets for the past two and a half years, It has been a my ambition to become a firefighter for as long as I can remember and I hope to fulfill that ambition within the next 2 years. I am overwhelmed to have been selected as part of a group of the Cheshire Fire & & Rescue Service Cadets to travel to Nepal where our group aims to make a practical contribution to a local community school building in a remote impoverished village that will make a significant benefit to the that community, and also to gain an appreciation of education in a developing community. As part of our commitment to project we each have to raise the amount of £3600 which will help towards the building materials for the school and also the costs of travel and accommodation, visa`s, food, inoculations etc. the whole project has an estimated cost of £76,000. Our party will be accompanied by members of the charity Classroom in the Clouds https://www.classroomsintheclouds.org/ who have many years of experience working with schools in Nepal. This is an amazing opportunity not only for myself but for all the members of our group that will help us all realise that the aspirations and ambitions we share can unite us all and not divide us. The trip will be for 16 days and will take place at the end of October or early November 2020. We have a number of fundraising events planned in the coming months, but your help and support towards raising the £3600 would be greatly appreciated and help me experience this amazing once in a life time event while helping others less fortunate than myself. Many, many thanks. Alfie
