Story
Hi,
We’re trying to raise as much money as we can to help the Ingham family pay off Alfie’s vet bills - which so far have racked up to £7,000 and he's not out of the woods not yet.
They've paid for higher cover pet insurance but they’re refusing to pay out as under a previous insurance Alfie was treated for sickness.
As a result, it’s left them with a whopping vet bill, which is leaving them even more stressed and we wanted to create this page to try and help them out.
This nightmare started on Tuesday when they took him to Oakmount Vets after a week of being poorly and being on a course of antibiotics.
On Tuesday night the vets discovered Alfie had intussusception which means one part of his intestines had slid into another section and folded into itself, causing a blockage.
By this point, he was a very poorly pooch so he went into surgery, at a cost of £2,000.
In the 48-hour period after his operation, he rapidly deteriorated and the vets explained the stitching in his intestine was leaking fluid into his gut, poisoning him.
They were then given two options; put Alfie to sleep or send him for surgery at a specialist vets.
He’s one of their family and, given a chance to save him, they agreed for him to see the specialist in Manchester for another operation, at a cost of £5,000.
At the moment, Alfie has had the second operation and is in the 24-hour recovery period where he’s poorly but stable.
The next five days will be crucial for him but everything is crossed that the stitches stay shut and he fights through.
Anyone who has a pet will know how hard this is for the whole family and knowing they have to find £7,000+ from somewhere isn’t making things any easier for them at what's already a difficult time.
If you could help in anyway possible with a small donation towards Alfie’s vet bills, we know they'd be so grateful.
Thankyou,
Adam and Becca
