I've raised £300 to for sleeping bags, blankets and hat, scarfs and gloves for the homeless in Manchester on Christmas day with Alfies sponsored read!!

Alfie is 10 years old and even at a young age has always been aware of the increase in homelessness in Manchester city centre. From been very young he has always made time to stop and talk to them or give whatever he has whether it be using his pocket money to buy someone a meal or giving them his last few sweets. We can very rarely walk past somebody homeless and not stop to give them something. His empathy for homeless people is astounding and when he was just 4 or 5 he would say things such as "When I am older I am going to build a big enough house for all the homeless people to sleep in".
Last year as we walked to town for our family lunch he saw a gentleman outside House of Fraser and asked if it was ok to give him his Christmas money off his granddad as he had got everything he wished for for Christmas he wanted to give to somebody else. It has been playing on his mind a lot this past few weeks in the run up to Christmas and he has asked his mum if he can do something for them. Along with been extremely caring Alfie also loves to read and has decided he would do a sponsored read of 10 books in 10 days. With the money raised he will on Christmas day before his lunch go hand our sleeping bags, blankets and hats, gloves and scarfs to the homeless in the city centre.
I know Christmas can be a tight squeeze for money but anything you can give would be amazing to help Alfie and his amazing cause!
