Story
Alfie is a nine month old basset hound puppy and the love of my life. He is the most wonderful, fun-loving, affectionate companion anyone would want. This July he suddenly stopped eating and started showing weakness in his back legs. One evening he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the vets.
He has had blood tests, spinal fluid tests and an x-ray, which all came back clear. He also had a brain scan which came back as abnormal and showed inflammation on his spine. He has lost 4kg in a week, has limited use of his back legs and is generally weak. He has seen several vets but at the minute no one knows what is wrong or the best treatment.
In order to further investigate the swelling on his spine Alfie needs an MRI scan at a veterinary hospital in Derby. Alfie is insured but the new vets are refusing to work with the insurance company meaning that we are now faced with the impossible decision of having to find over £1000 to get Alfie the scan he desperately needs.
We are so incredibly desperate to help our sweet puppy get everything he needs to recover and live a normal life and anything you can give to help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Jemma & Alfie
