I'm raising £100000 to help Alfred beat neuroblastoma!

At 4 years old in January 2024, our little boy Alfred had some tummy aches that wouldnt go away. After just three trips to the doctors we were referred to our local hospital and a massive tumour was discovered in Alfred’s abdomen.
Alfred was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma – an aggressive cancer with a less than ideal prognosis. His tumour was the size of a watermelon and he had metastases on his liver and lung.
Alfred’s treatment has included induction chemo, major surgery to remove the tumour, high dose chemo, a stem cell transplant, 20 rounds of radiotherapy, and months of immunotherapy.
In Jan 2025 we found out Alfred had relapsed during treatment with a new tumour and a new spot in his lung.
Prognosis for relapsed neuroblastoma is poor but have begun a promising new clinical trial. If this doesn’t work, we may need to look outside the UK for treatment options.
Alfred is a happy, boy who loves gardening and going out on his scooter to visit his favourite shops and cafés in Tiptree. He gets tired easily, needs support keeping his weight up and relies on a NG tube for nutrition and medicine.
What will the money raised go towards?
1.Treatment
Relapsed neuroblastoma is rare and treatment options in the UK are limited. We may need to access life-saving treatment abroad costing at least £100,000.
2. Long term support
The treatment for neuroblastoma is toxic and creates long-term health issues. Our family have lost a lot of income while supporting him through treatment and face a higher cost of living to give Alfred and his sister the support they need. Money raised will support Alfred and his family to access any educational, financial or emotional support through treatment and to address long term costs.
Money raised but not used will support other families fighting cancer or charitable causes close to Alfred’s heart.
Please donate if you can. Anything that you are able to donate will help our beautiful boy. Thank you so much!
