Story

I'm raising money for a project called Paws to Unwind in memory of my cousin, James Campbell-Laing who tragically passed away in January 2017 aged 19.

Starting on Monday 23rd July I'm going to be swimming at Godalming Leisure Centre and I'm going to be swimming 25km!

Paws to Unwind is a project which occurs at Furman University, the Uni James attended in Greenville, South Carolina, funded by The James Campbell-Laing Foundation.

The aim of the programme is to provide compassionate pet therapy visits on campus, with the aim of reducing stress and anxiety students may be experiencing. This is a fitting tribute to James who, like many others, was diagnosed several years ago with generalized anxiety and also chronic sleep issues. He was also an ardent dog lover and adored his two cocker spaniels Buffy and Remy.

It's amazing that society and the world is becoming increasingly aware of mental health issues.

'Paws to Unwind' through the Greenville Humane Society, provides on average 7 dogs per month for two hours on campus. The program began on 7 September 2017 and has been really successful!
