Alice and Herbie (Best Off Du Vallois) have reached the pinnacle of the sport, and are within touching distance of representing TEAM GB at the World Championships, racing 160km in Monpazier (FRA) in September.

The journey started over 5 years ago. Herbie was a shell of the horse he is today, he was in a sorry state and needed care and devotion to rehabilitate his body and mind. Since then, they have successfully navigated over 13 race starts together in the UK and Europe.

Herbie has now completed the championship distance in qualifying and shown how capable he is. Earlier this year Alice and Herbie finished 140km in Belgium where they placed 4th and were the highest ranked British combination.

There is no financial support available to riders representing their country in the sport of Endurance. Monpazier is at least 2 day’s drive away and the complications of crossing the border post Brexit increase the cost of travel 10x. Riders also need to fund team management (vet, physio, farrier).

They can’t get there without the generous support of friends and family. No matter how big or small we thank you for getting Alice and Herbie to the start line and hope they do you proud on the day.
