My name is Alice Madgewick.I have been one of the few year 12 students selected to represent Lightcliffe Academy on a trip to Tanzania occurring next July. This trip is run by the Diocese of Leeds through the Church of England.

The purpose of the trip is to complete hands-on work in the village, such as: building wells, toilets,etc ...aiming to decease the poverty of the area. We will also be interacting with underprivileged children in Primary and High schools and exploring the Tanzania culture/different lifestyles.

I will be doing a "Tag the bag" fundraiser to raise money to go towards the cost of the trip (£1400 per person). This means for every donation I receive, the donators' name will be proudly written on my suitcase so I am able to share my experience of the trip with you and highlight the kind, giving people that made the whole trip possible. I will also be uploading photos and videos whilst over there to allow you to see what your donations have funded towards.
