Story

Off the back of my recent struggles I really want to start the ball rolling with some fundraising.
Firstly for Ribblemere Mother and Baby unit which is the reason I'm still here.
I would like to raise enough to make a reasonable amount of small distraction baskets containing small mindful activities, fidget items, mantras, small notes of encouragement from mums on the other side, little treats and basic toys to help them connect with their babies. Basic in many ways but powerful to a mum who is scared, anxious, in a totally new place and not necessarily by their own will.
The aim is to give these baskets to new mums coming into the unit to give them comfort, distraction from their anxiety especially during this time when most mums are having to isolate in their rooms due to covid, to also give them some belongings as many mums can arrive at the unit with nothing due to how unwell they are.
I would like to name my venture into this fundraising which I hope to build on and expand on, #Mumpowerfulpeople
I would like to enlist the help of any other mums who wish to help who have had mental health issues either before or after the birth of their baby. I really believe that this is the start of a micro movement which will rlhave a huge impact !
