Story
Transylvania Play Project
Dear friends,
As many of you know, I believe passionately in the rights of all children to enjoy the freedom of play, fun, laughter and creativity. In July 2018 I will be joining a small group of volunteers to run pop up play activities for Roma children living in very poor conditions in Transylvania.
The Cantina Project is run by a couple based in the village of Valea Rece. They provide 2 hot meals a week for local children. Every year, Joan Beattie is a committed playworker and volunteer in the UK organises a group of volunteers to go over and help run play activities for the children. Throughout the year we also send over children’s clothes which are shared out to the families by the project.
I have wanted for some time to go and help with this work and I am thrilled that this year I can!
I aim to raise £500.00 to pay for play resources, courier costs to send out clothes and materials my accommodation whilst there for (7th to 14th July)
