Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have taken on a challenge of swimming 44km up until the Summer Solstice on 21st June. I will mostly swim in the North Sea, depending on the conditions. If it's not safe to do so, I will use a local swimming pool.
My goal is to raise funds to support the great work of Aberdeen Surf Lifesaving Club. The money is needed to cover the cost of training and equipment, particularly a defibrillator that could be used by the public at the beach front.
Aberdeen Surf Lifesaving Club is a community-based group of volunteers, who are trained in lifesaving techniques, basic first aid and CPR. They also provide information to the public on beach safety, water confidence and recognising hazards. The club regularly hosts and supports local community events such as sea dips or surfing competitions.
Joining ASLSC has been an empowering journey; it has allowed me to challenge myself while giving back to the community. Spending time at the beach became more productive as I grew stronger, more confident, and resilient. I made some great friends who look out for one another in many ways, not just in the water.
In a nutshell, joining ASLSC empowers individuals to grow, give back and be part of something bigger than themselves - all while staying active and having fun.
I am asking for your support in reaching my target of £500 for this noble cause. There are various ways you can contribute - your time, your skills or your money. Every donation, big or small, is appreciated. Thank you for all your support!
